Project Scope
The mission of this project was to create a fully functional database website where administrators could easily upload resources for students, educators, and parents to access by using a search function and being easily accessible, 508-compliant, and efficiently navigable for new users.
Vexing MediaProcess
This website needed to be completed with a fast turnaround of fewer than three months. Because of this, we scheduled regular meetings with the client to ensure there was an efficient manner of discussing needs and changes along the way.
While this quick turnaround time is only possible depending on the work needed, we stuck to the schedule and were able to produce each deliverable to the client on its scheduled date. This aided in giving adequate proofing time for the client to review and give us the necessary changes within the time allotted.
We created a findings report based on interviews and questionnaires we provided to the client.
To launch the Native Student Support Database, Vexing Media began with a “Discovery” process designed to gather information from internal stakeholders to inform the design. Vexing conducted interviews with people representing the organization that could describe the mission of the database, its functions, and how these functions should be presented to the audience who are likely to use the database.
We designed all new branding, including colors and fonts, providing options for the client to choose from based on the initial list of desirables given by the client.
We also created a custom report with the purpose of providing website documentation for the administrators of the launched database for Indigenous Resources in Education, that will have access to the website to edit, update, add users, view submissions, etc.
ClientResults
We created a system within the database for the admins to approve newly submitted resources easily and for the user to be able to search resources based on their location, grade level, financial needs, and other needs overall.
Assembling each resource into categorical segments allows for easy searching and better results, providing the student with the resource best suited to their needs.
