Matt Slotemaker
Partner, Director of Video Production
Matt Slotemaker is the newest partner at Vexing Media. Originally the owner and founder of 12 Acre Films, he’s collaborated with the Vexing team over the years. Notably, the annual TEDx Spokane event has been ongoing since 2018, and they produced an award-winning vaccine campaign in 2022 for The Native Project.
The team at Vexing Media and Matt decided to merge companies to expand their available services to a full-service marketing agency, creating content that is informational, educational, and valuable for their clients!
Matt’s interest in creating videos began in the early 2000s while making music videos with his friends and showing them to the youth group at church. That inspired a passion that informed his decision to attend WSU’s Communication school and earn a degree in Advertising, graduating in 2008, the same year he married his wife, Laura.
Matt began 12 Acre Films in 2015 after being let go from a shut-down travel company. Despite the rocky start, 12 Acre Films grew to be a successful company and has worked with notable international names like Google, Vice Media, and Bill Gates, and Spokane-area clients like Washington Trust Bank, The Museum of Arts and Culture, Spokane Doesn’t Suck, Terrain, Ten Capital, Gonzaga University, and Nicks Boots.
Matt and his wife, Laura, reside in Spokane, where they live on 12 acres of land and enjoy spending time with their four children, Roman (2), Soren (4), Margot (6), and Evelyn (9), and their cats Stardust and Luna. They spend a lot of time outside, maintaining a large garden and camping in the summer, and playing in the snow and on the trails in the winter.
