Meet the Makers Film Screening
October 17, 2017, 7:00pm - October 17, 2017, 11:30pm
You are invited to join Spokane Film Project and Spokane Arts at a celebratory screening of all four “Meet the Maker” films, Tuesday, October 17 at 7 p.m. at the Magic Lantern. This will be the premiere of the fourth film in the series, this episode directed by Chase Ogden, and the new film puts the spotlight on dancer Elizabeth Belyea and choreographer Vincas Greene. Join us at the Magic Lantern to view these fantastic documentaries together, followed by a chance to meet and talk with the filmmakers. After the screening, join us in the Saranac Public House for appetizers hosted by Spokane Arts.
Odgen’s film joins three other short “Meet the Maker” documentaries, each episode directed/produced by a different filmmaker. The 7-minute films focus on local artists and creative communities, with subjects ranging from legendary visual artist Harold Balazs, to garage-pop band Friends of Mine, to three poets—Fitz Fitzpatrick, Mark Anderson, and Isaac Grambo—who have built the local performance poetry scene into a supportive, inclusive community. Each film was directed, produced, and edited through the efforts of local filmmakers who are part of the Spokane Film Project.
There will be a $10 suggested donation at the door, and all proceeds will support the continuation of the “Meet the Makers” series in 2018.
